The Committee of Seventy was established in 1904 to combat corruption in Philadelphia, playing a major role in the adoption of civil service reforms and the passage of the 1919 and 1951 Home Rule Charters. A nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, Seventy does not endorse candidates or represent any special interests.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Candidate Forum

On Monday, April 15, 2024 at 7:00pm, the Committee of Seventy, along with Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts, the Forum of Executive Women, League of Women Voters of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Philadelphia Bar Association, is hosting a bipartisan virtual forum for Pennsylvania attorney general candidates.

Civic Learning Week

Civic Learning Week brings together students, educators, policymakers, and leaders in the public and private sectors to highlight and further energize the movement for civic education in states. Please join us for a poll worker question and answer session. We are happy to answer any lingering questions you may have about being a poll worker in Pennsylvania. You only need to sign up for one of these sessions, unless you have additional questions that were not addressed in your first session.
