The Committee of Seventy was established in 1904 to combat corruption in Philadelphia, playing a major role in the adoption of civil service reforms and the passage of the 1919 and 1951 Home Rule Charters. A nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, Seventy does not endorse candidates or represent any special interests.

Representation Matters: Celebrating Women in Government

Join us on January 30th for a nonpartisan reception honoring the leadership of women elected officials across the Greater Philadelphia area. Presented by the Committee of Seventy, The Forum of Executive Women and The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, and generously sponsored by Independence Blue Cross and The Bellwether District, this special evening brings together elected officials and dynamic leaders to celebrate progress, foster connections, and highlight the power of women in government.
