On May 9th, Philly-area Girl Scouts will have a Bridging Ceremony and will be earning their badge in democracy. Philly City Councilmember Kendra Brooks will attend to talk with scouts about the value of participating in local government.

PHILADELPHIA, PA – With polls opening Tuesday, November 6, the Committee of Seventy’s nonpartisan Voter Guide and Election Programs are ready to engage voters and improve the voting experience in the Philadelphia area. This year, Seventy is excited to include its WeVote app in the resources voters can leverage to make informed decisions at the polls.

Join us on January 13th for a nonpartisan reception honoring the leadership of women elected officials across the Greater Philadelphia area. Presented by the Committee of Seventy and The Forum of Executive Women, and generously sponsored by Independence Blue Cross and The Bellwether District, this special evening brings together elected officials and dynamic leaders to celebrate progress, foster connections, and highlight the power of women in government.

The 17-member Philadelphia City Council has a major role in the everyday lives of city residents. With Council districts being redrawn, now is the time to ensure residents can engage directly in the map-making process.

On November 8, 2021, there was a Community Input Meeting held on City Council redistricting for the general area of Logan and Olney, facilitated by staff from Millennials in Action and the Committee of Seventy.
