We were founded in Philadelphia to combat corruption and have played an important role in civil service reform, campaign finance reform, and election administration. We are a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, and we do not endorse candidates or represent any special interests. We want better government that our citizens can trust.

Chester County Voter Service has reported that the poll books at all precincts currently do not include the names of voters who are registered with third parties (e.g., Independent, Libertarians, Green) or with no party affiliation.

For the 2022 MLK Day of Service, the Committee of Seventy was joined by and Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, the League of Women Voters of Philadelphia, and the Office of the Philadelphia City Commissioners to host an info session for people interested in serving as a poll worker in Philadelphia in 2022.

This summit will offer an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with a diverse range of leaders—policymakers, educators, activists, futurists, and engaged citizens—who will address current challenges and work toward actionable solutions for building a more inclusive democracy.
