New Coalition Supports Opening Pennsylvania’s Primaries

PHILADELPHIA, PA – With polls opening Tuesday, November 6, the Committee of Seventy’s nonpartisan Voter Guide and Election Programs are ready to engage voters and improve the voting experience in the Philadelphia area. This year, Seventy is excited to include its WeVote app in the resources voters can leverage to make informed decisions at the polls.

New coalition, editorial boards and legislative leadership call for reform

The Committee of Seventy, in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania, is hosting a series of virtual information sessions to support Pennsylvanians serving as poll workers and poll watchers in the upcoming May 20, 2025 primary election. Launched April 22 and running through May 19, the sessions are designed to prepare new and experienced poll workers to uphold election integrity and ensure a smooth experience for voters.

The partnership unifies two of Pennsylvania's leaders in civic participation and expands C70’s existing mission to connect in new ways with youth and first-time voters.
