COMMITTEE OF SEVENTY LAUNCHES WEVOTE INITIATIVE
PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Committee of Seventy, the nonpartisan civic leadership organization, announces the launch of WeVote, an initiative to promote a culture voting in the Greater Philadelphia region through engaging businesses, organizations, and communities and leveraging a new mobile app by MilkCrate.
In response to low turnout among registered voters in recent elections, Committee of Seventy, through the WeVote initiative, is partnering with businesses, organizations, and communities to create a culture of voting among their employees, volunteers, and constituents. Organizations that partner with Committee of Seventy through WeVote are encouraged to implement initiatives that encourage voting and reduce obstacles for voting such as offering flexibility on Election Day
Additionally, partner organizations download the WeVote app, create teams, and encourage others to download the app. The WeVote app puts Seventy’s digital ballot tool, candidate info, polling locations, reminders, event opportunities, and more at voter’s fingertips. The app encourages friendly competition among voters and organizations by letting users earn points for taking civic action around being informed voters.
Committee of Seventy and MilkCrate are looking forward to talking more about the importance of engaging registered voters through the WeVote initiative.
