The Committee of Seventy was established in 1904 to combat corruption in Philadelphia, playing a major role in the adoption of civil service reforms and the passage of the 1919 and 1951 Home Rule Charters. A nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, Seventy does not endorse candidates or represent any special interests.

2024 Women In Public Leadership Event

Please join the Committee of Seventy for our Third Annual Women in Public Leadership Event. The event features women leading at all levels and the opportunities and challenges they face. Marty Moss-Coane, Host, Executive Producer of WHYY-FM’s The Connection will moderate the discussion between Paige G. Cognetti, Mayor of Scranton, PA; Rev. Bonnie Camarda, Director of Partnerships, The Salvation Army; Katherine Gilmore Richardson, Philadelphia City Council Majority Leader; Jen Selber, General Counsel of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and Leslie S. Richards, CEO and General Manager, SEPTA. These women will inspire and empower us as we strive towards a more equitable and vibrant future.

C70 will also honor renowned civic leader Leslie Anne Miller, a trailblazer who was the first woman to be named partner in her law firm, to be elected president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and to serve as general counsel of the Commonwealth under Governor Ed Rendell. She was the first chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession and is currently a member of the Pennsylvania Commission on Women, the Forum of Executive Women, and the Pennsylvania Women’s Forum. With the Civic Leadership Award we recognize her significant contributions to C70, Philadelphia, and Pennsylvania.

The event is also an opportunity to connect with leaders across the private, public and non-profit sectors, and create opportunities for emerging women leaders.

Presenting Sponsor: $25,000 - Thank you to Laura LaRosa for her sponsorship. As the Presenting Sponsor, Laura LaRosa will receive all of the benefits below, plus the opportunity for her to speak at the podium.

Supporting Sponsor: $10,000 - All of the benefits below, plus a total of 10 tickets to the in-person event; and a half-page ad in the printed event program.
