Rachel Kurlander

Associate Director, Office of Government and Community Affairs, University of Pennsylvania

Rachel Kurlander is the Associate Director of the Office of Government and Community Affairs at the University of Pennsylvania. In her role, she supports the University’s strategic objectives at the city, state, and federal levels and through local engagement and leads campus-wide Election Day operations. She was previously a senior associate at Red Horse Strategies, a New York-based political consulting firm.

Rachel serves as Vice Chair of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia’s Young Professionals Council Advisory Board. She participated in the first cohort of The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Emerging Leaders Corps. She earned her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Rachel moved to Philadelphia five years ago from her native New York and continues to fall ever more in love with her adopted home and sports teams. She lives in Center City with her husband, Gabe, and their dog, Cora. Her search for the city’s best vegetarian Cheesesteak continues.
