Daecia-jamè Borgia is a proud Philadelphian, Temple University graduate, and the first woman in her family to earn a master’s degree from Rutgers University. As the Destination Stakeholder Engagement Manager at VISIT PHILADELPHIA, she maintains, builds, and strengthens the organization’s relationships with partner and stakeholder attractions—particularly throughout the region’s vibrant arts and culture community.
In her role, Daecia- jamè oversees community sponsorships, represents Visit Philly at partner events, and leads efforts that deepen civic collaboration across the tourism and cultural sectors. A project she’s currently passionate about is enhancing the visibility of Philadelphia’s live music scene and spotlighting the talent and venues that make the city a hub for dynamic cultural experiences.
Daecia- jamè joined Visit Philly in July 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and English from Temple University and a master’s degree in Adult & Continuing Education from Rutgers University. While studying abroad in London, England, at Queen Mary University, she was able to embark on a backpacking trip throughout Europe, which catapulted her love of travel and has resulted in her visiting 24 countries to date.
Deeply committed to community engagement, Daecia- jamè is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia’s Young Professionals Council and a proud participant in the Temple University Alumni Association. She brings the same spirit of connection to her personal life—championing local creatives, small businesses, and cultural institutions across the city she loves.
A Northern Liberties resident, Daecia- jamè enjoys exploring Philadelphia’s neighborhoods and sharing the region’s hidden gems with locals and visitors alike. Her favorite restaurant is Café La Maude, and when friends visit for the first time, she always brings them to the iconic Philadelphia Museum of Art. One of her fondest Philadelphia memories is celebrating the Eagles’ 2018 Super Bowl win at Xfinity Live!, where the energy of the crowd made it feel as if the entire city was celebrating together.
Her Philadelphia travel recommendations reflect her love for exploring every corner of the city: Grab her favorite cheesesteak at Del Rossi’s, visit The Colored Girls Museum in Germantown, explore the Rittenhouse Square farmers markets, and experience Center City’s Open Streets programming when pedestrians take over the blocks. She also encourages visitors to see a performance with Ensemble Arts, discover contemporary exhibitions at Paradigm Gallery in Old City, and immerse themselves in unforgettable sculpture installations at the Dina Wind Foundation in South Philadelphia.
