Following the momentum of the recent presidential election, this MLK Day, we’re shifting focus to help Philadelphians engage more deeply with their local government. The Civic Engagement Starter Kits are designed to provide residents with practical tools and accessible knowledge to better understand city government and take meaningful action in their communities.
We are thrilled by the overwhelming response to this year’s MLK Day of Service! Thanks to our incredible volunteers, we will assemble 500 Civic Engagement Starter Kits to help residents across Philadelphia better understand their local government and take meaningful action in their communities.

Volunteers will assemble 500 kits, which will be distributed to key partners, including:
This initiative is designed to foster civic engagement throughout Philadelphia. By providing easy-to-use, visually engaging resources, we aim to inspire residents to connect with their city, participate in democratic processes, and contribute to a stronger, more vibrant community.
Although volunteer spots for Seventy’s activity are now full, there are lots of other ways to get involved and we encourage you to explore other meaningful opportunities to participate in MLK Day of Service activities here.
Thank you for helping us build a stronger, more connected Philadelphia!
