The District Attorney plays a critical role in shaping the city’s approach to public safety, criminal justice and community trust. On Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 7:00 PM, the Committee of Seventy, the Philadelphia Bar Association and WHYY News will host a forum for Democratic candidates for Philadelphia District Attorney. The conversation will be moderated by WHYY News’ Carmen Russell-Sluchansky, multiplatform reporter for politics, and Cherri Gregg, WHYY host/anchor and co-host of Studio 2.
Both District Attorney Larry Krasner and former Judge Pat Dugan were invited to participate in this forum and initially confirmed their attendance. The Dugan campaign informed the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Committee of Seventy on Thursday, April 10 that Judge Dugan will no longer be participating. An open invitation to Judge Dugan has been extended through April 22.
For those who aren’t able to attend, a livestream will be available via the WHYY YouTube channel and WHYY Facebook page.
This event is free and open to the press, but space is limited and credentialing is required. Members of the press will not be permitted without being pre-approved and credentialed. Press must request credentials and RSVP by contacting Genevieve Greene, Communications Director for the Committee of Seventy, at [email protected].
Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts, the Forum of Executive Women, the League of Women Voters of Philadelphia, and other civic partners are co-hosts of this event.
