C70 is partnering with Young Involved Philadelphia to celebrate their annual State of Young Philly week of events. We'll be hosting a zoom discussion with an esteemed panel, including Sister Taleah of the City of Dreams Coalition, Scott Seeborg from All Voting is Local, and Brittany Smalls from C70. Morgan Robinson, president of YIP, will moderate a discussion about how attendees can feel empowered and understand that their vote has the ability to create change. We'll touch on issues of accessibility, overcoming threats to election integrity, and other ways people can participate beyond the ballot box.

To introduce students to different kinds of questions they can ask themselves and others – whether in class, with friends and family, or in different conversation settings. And to give them practice in using different kinds of questions.

Targeted to middle and high school students but open to the general public, Voices of Voting is a short play commissioned by the Committee of Seventy and written and directed by award-winning Philadelphia artistic director David Bradley that ties the personal struggles and political courage of the 1960’s campaign to secure the vote to the present-day challenge of engaging young people in our electoral process.

C70 is hosting a forum for mayoral candidates that gives voters a chance to zoom out and focus on the big issues.

Join PA Civics for a virtual event to celebrate innovative educators and hear from policymakers attempting to make Pennsylvania a national leader in civics.

C70, the League of Women Voters of Philadelphia, and Temple's MPP program are co-hosting an event with former PA congresswoman Marjorie Margolies. Marjorie will speak to her experience as both a mother and a congresswoman. She will attempt to answer the question "can women have it all?". The event will be moderated by C70's Interim President Lauren Cristella. Light refreshments will be offered and books will be available for purchase. The event is free to attend.

To those who value our system of checks and balances, House Bill 38 contemplates a fundamentally different relationship between the legislative and judicial branches wherein the former has unequal power over the latter. Such a change would irreparably and severely impair the governance of the Commonwealth, and would harm the independence and impartiality of our court system. C70 urges the PA House to not advance this proposed constitutional amendment and allow HB 38 to lapse at the end of this session.
