Protect Democracy

Cris Landa is on the Performance and Learning team at Protect Democracy, a nonpartisan anti-authoritarianism group. Cris has over a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, including fundraising, operations, strategic planning, and programming. In her previous roles as Acting Co-Executive Director and Program Director at Verified Voting, she oversaw the organization during the challenging 2020 and post-2020 election cycle. She was a National Director of Learning and Director of Detroit for the Venture For America fellowship program, has experience as a high school teacher, and also helped run now-Lt. Governor Gilchrist's campaign for Detroit City Clerk in 2017. She currently serves as a Committee Person in the 15th Ward and was an active volunteer with Fairmount Votes. Cris has a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree from Columbia University and a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Colorado College
