Judge of the Commonwealth Court

Office Description: The Commonwealth Court is one of two statewide intermediate appellate courts and primarily responsible for matters involving state and local governments and regulatory agencies. It also acts as a trial court when lawsuits are filed by or against the Commonwealth. Cases that reach the nine-member court are generally heard by panels of three judges.

In the May 2025 primary election, Pennsylvania voters registered with either the Democratic or Republican parties will choose their party's nominees for the November general election to fill a vacant seat on the Commonwealth Court. Those candidates are listed below.

In January 2026, the 10-year term of one incumbent judge will expire. That judge, Michael Wojcik, is up for a retention election in November 2025. Voters may vote YES to keep the judge in office or vote NO to remove them from office. This position will not be on the ballot during the May primary.
