Philadelphia, PA The Committee of Seventy, Philadelphia Chairman Commissioner Omar Sabir, OnePhillyConnect and other partners will hold a special event and press conference ahead of the October 29th deadline to request a mail-in ballot. The event aims to increase awareness about the Satellite Election Offices (SEOs) across the city and the services available at each location, as well as City Hall, while encouraging city employees and other nearby businesses to cast their mail-in ballot at one of these locations.

The event will be held on the South Apron of City Hall on Friday, October 25th from 9:00am to 11:00am and will feature a press conference with elected and community leaders at 9:30am. There will also be a DJ, food, voter resources, and other activities, including circus performers from Circadium - School of Contemporary Circus and an appearance by the Phillie Phanatic,  in an effort to highlight the joy of voting.

“Voting is fundamental to our democracy, and we’re incredibly grateful to Chairman Sabir, the City Commissioners, and our partners for their unwavering commitment to making this process both accessible and joyful,” said Lauren Cristella, President and CEO of the Committee of Seventy. “The SEOs bring people closer to their government and empower citizens to make their voices heard. With this event, we’re emphasizing that whether you’re at work in Center City or at home in a Philadelphia neighborhood, it’s never been easier to be a part of the democratic process.”

Satellite Election Offices, established by the Office of the City Commissioners, are strategically located across each Councilmanic District. These offices offer a range of services, allowing registered voters to apply for and immediately submit mail-in or absentee ballots. Additionally, voters can request replacement ballots, receive necessary envelopes, and apply for emergency absentee ballots. City Commissioners Office staff are available at these locations to provide assistance and answer any questions related to voting or election procedures.

“As Philadelphians, we have the power to shape our future through voting. This event is not just about casting ballots, it's about celebrating the strength of our democracy. The Satellite Election Offices ensure every resident has convenient access to the tools needed to participate. Whether you're downtown or in your neighborhood, voting has never been easier or more accessible. Together, we make sure every voice is heard, and every vote counts.” said Chairman Sabir.

The Board of Elections Office at City Hall, provides the same voter services as the SEOs and is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday through Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm. The Satellite Election Offices are open Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday through Sun 10:00am to 4:00pm.
