C70 Statement on Fake Video of Destroyed Ballots in Bucks County

The Committee of Seventy released the following statement regarding the recent fake video of mail-in ballots being destroyed in Bucks County.

"We are aware of recent misinformation circulating about the election process in Bucks County. Federal authorities have reported that a false video, created and spread by foreign actors, falsely depicts an election worker tampering with ballots. This type of misinformation is intended to undermine public trust in our elections.

To counter these threats, organizations including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Pennsylvania Department of State are vigilantly monitoring attempts to raise doubts about U.S. elections and are promptly alerting the public when such incidents occur.

It’s important to rely only on verified information from trusted sources. The Committee of Seventy urges you to check official sources, such as the Pennsylvania Department of State and local election officials, for accurate updates. While rumors may spread quickly, trust the process—our election system remains secure, transparent, and accountable.

Stay informed, and please continue to trust in the integrity of the process."
