A lifelong Philadelphia resident, Kyle is an avid employment advocate and community organizer. In 2017 and 2018, he spearheaded a successful job fair with several organizations in his South Philadelphia neighborhood. For his work, he received notable accolades including a mayoral citation, city council citation, congressional commendation, and a gubernatorial acknowledgment from PA Governor Tom Wolf. He has dedicated his social media accounts to share job openings throughout the city.
Officially, Kyle sits on the board of multiple organizations in Philadelphia including: The Philadelphia Millennial Advisory Committee, The Urban League of Philadelphia, SEPTA Citizen Advisory Committee, The Gray’s Ferry Civic Association, Young Involved Philadelphia, and Keeping Philadelphia Beautiful. Passionate about supporting his neighborhood, Kyle uses his background and experience to provide free consulting services to local nonprofits. In May 2018, Kyle was elected as a member of The Democratic State Committee in the 8th Senatorial District and Committeeperson in the 36th ward.
We are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of Kyle Shenandoah during his time as a Buchholz Fellow, and we join the Philadelphia community in mourning his passing.
