Jamal is an attorney in the Commercial Legal Group at Merck & Co. (Merck), where he counsels business teams and executives on contractual and marketing strategies and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Merck, Jamal was an associate in the Corporate and Business Transactions Group at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, where his work focused on mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions. Jamal has provided pro bono legal services to various local nonprofits and small businesses, and has volunteered for several voter registration drives and political campaigns. He is an alumnus of the New Leaders Council Fellowship Program, and serves as an advisory board member of Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing educational opportunity for traditionally underserved students. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Jamal is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Brown University. He is proud to call Philadelphia home and enjoys traveling, movies and attending live concerts and sporting events.
