Celebrate Constitution Day and Slay the Gerrymander

Join the Committee of Seventy and the University of Pennsylvania’s Office of Government and Community Affairs on September 17th to Celebrate Constitution Day and Slay the Gerrymander.

The event will feature a brief conversation with Chris Satullo, Draw the Lines PA Program Director and co-founder of the Penn Project for Civic Engagement; and Ken Stief, PhD, founder of Urban Spatial and Director of the Master of Urban Spatial Analytics at the University Pennsylvania.

Following the conversation, attendees will be introduced to Draw the Lines PA, a statewide, public education and engagement initiative that will give thousands of participants access to the same kind of digital tools and data that the political pros use to draw the Commonwealth’s electoral maps and have the opportunity to begin building their own. Maps can later be submitted to a statewide Congressional mapping competition with a grand prize of $4,500. Attendees are asked to bring their laptops to participate in the mapathon and food will be provided.

This event is free and open to the public.  To RSVP click here and follow the event on Facebook here
