What is one life experience you have that voters should know about?

I overcame a difficult childhood, including the passing of my mother at a very young age, with a lot of hard work and benefit of both a high quality public school education and a union-supported disability pension for my father. One of my key priorities and goals as a legislator is to ensure that others enjoy the same opportunities and advantages that I did to build a successful life.

What sets you apart from other candidates?

I have extensive experience in business, education, and government, including key roles in management, sales, consulting, and as a local elected official. In my current position, I have the unique opportunity and privilege to bring all the skills, expertise, and competences that I have developed over the years to bear on being an effective legislator and championing legislative and budget priorities that improve lives and strengthen communities.

How do you plan to work across ideological lines to achieve shared goals?

I have a demonstrated track record of working across the aisle whenever possible to benefit the peoples and communities that I serve. That includes working with my Republican colleagues in both the PA House and Senate to deliver local grant funding, partnering on local events and constituent services, and a strong track record of building consensus on bipartisan, bicameral legislation and budget priorities. I am also an active member of the House Bipartisan Caucus as well as other caucuses and committees where I actively work to build and maintain strong relationships with all of my colleagues.

What would be your top three policy priorities in office?

1) Full and fair funding for public education. 2) Protecting democracy and individual rights, including the right to vote. 3) Support for underserved communities, including those in rural areas, to ensure support for sustainable economic development, healthcare access, and environmental justice and protection.

The Committee of Seventy has partnered with the Carter Center to promote the Candidate Principles for Trusted Elections (www.principledcandidates.org) to improve the voting process, encourage honest leadership, and promote civic engagement. Do you support the Candidate Principles?

Yes, I fully support these principles and commitments.
