What is one life experience you have that voters should know about?

As an ER doctor, I have delivered babies and told women they have lost their pregnancies. I have also treated a woman who had a back-alley abortion. She did not speak English, likely came from a country that did not protect reproductive health and liberties, and she nearly died.
I will never forget her suffering and do not want to see that happen in Pennsylvania. If re-elected to the PA General Assembly, I will continue to vote to protect the reproductive health and liberty of all Pennsylvania women.

What sets you apart from other candidates?

As the only Indian-American in the Pennsylvania Legislature and the first physician in over 60 years, I have a unique background and philosophy that's rooted in service to my community as well as pragmatic, compassionate leadership.

How do you plan to work across ideological lines to achieve shared goals?

From more than 20 years of experience as an emergency physician, I know there's no such thing as a Republican or Democrat heart attack. As a legislator, I don't spend my time on partisanship, but instead focus on community and service driven solutions that work for all of my constituents, regardless of their party registration. A prime example is my bipartisan medical debt relief program.

What would be your top three policy priorities in office?

- Protecting a woman's right to choose
- Fully funding our police, EMS, fire,
and schools
- Defending our democracy
