What is one life experience you have that voters should know about?

I studied martial arts (Tang Soo Do) for many years, and became a third-degree black belt as well as an instructor. Martial arts can do so much for people. They're a fantastic way to stay in shape, improve discipline, and meet great people. I encourage everyone to take a class if any martial art piques your interest!

What sets you apart from other candidates?

While most Americans descend from immigrants, fewer are immigrants themselves. My parents taught me the value of diligence as they carved a life for themselves in the United States. I followed in their footsteps, worked hard, and became a business owner myself. Unlike others in the business community, however, I registered with the Democratic Party. I believe that when we elevate workers, our workers elevate us, and create prosperity for everyone.

How do you plan to work across ideological lines to achieve shared goals?

The problems facing constituents in my district, and Pennsylvanians broadly, cut across partisan lines. I'll build personal relationships with representatives across the aisle. In constructing policy, I'll work with think tanks and other policy organizations to write legislation that benefits every Pennsylvanian. My door will always be open to concerned constituents and other Representatives interested in working together, whatever their party.

What would be your top three policy priorities in office?

My topmost priority is fixing our state's broken system of public education funding. For too long, our state has under-invested in every level of education. No more. I will also push to constitutionally protect abortion. Medical decisions should be between people and their doctors. I also intend to promote an increase in housing supply by closely examining local zoning laws and providing state-level incentives for affordable construction.

The Committee of Seventy has partnered with the Carter Center to promote the Candidate Principles for Trusted Elections (www.principledcandidates.org) to improve the voting process, encourage honest leadership, and promote civic engagement. Do you support the Candidate Principles?

Yes, I support and endorse the Candidate Principles.
