What is one life experience you have that voters should know about?

I lost my husband to pancreatic cancer not quite two years ago.

What sets you apart from other candidates?

As a parent of four now adult children I have the ability and energy to multi-task. I also have a law degree which helps me to understand legislation, craft legislation and negotiate with others. I value our system of government and respect the sanctity of our elections.

How do you plan to work across ideological lines to achieve shared goals?

I will thoroughly read proposed legislation and try to find common ground with what the citizens in District 47 need or might accept. I will always act in the best interests of the people in my district.

What would be your top three policy priorities in office?

Codification of a woman's right to make her own medical decisions without government interference.
Introduction and support for common sense gun legislation to make schools, teachers, and all citizens safer while still respecting the Framer's intention behind the Second Amendment.
Supporting the right to organize for labor, raising the minimum wage, creating a friendly environment for manufacturing jobs in my district. These are three issues that are all connected with increasing the opportunity for the citizens of District 47 to have a better, secure quality of life.

The Committee of Seventy has partnered with the Carter Center to promote the Candidate Principles for Trusted Elections (www.principledcandidates.org) to improve the voting process, encourage honest leadership, and promote civic engagement. Do you support the Candidate Principles?

I do.
