Connecting Current and Future Leaders

Join NExT Philadelphia – Urban League of Philadelphia Young Professionals and Temple University Masters of Public Policy program as we provide a forum for millennials to engage with a current leader in the Philadelphia region. This will be a great opportunity to network while adding your voice towards strengthening the experience of urban young professionals in the city.

US Congressman Dwight Evans will be the featured speaker. Congressman Dwight Evans represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is currently serving his first term after being elected in a special election in November 2016 and currently serves on the powerful Ways and Means Committee. For 36 years, Congressman Evans served as a state representative in the PA House of Representatives where he was known as a pragmatic leader who knows how to put public policy above politics and make ideas matter. He made history in 1990 when he became the first African-American Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, a position he held for two decades.

NExT Philadelphia is one of over 60 chapters of the National Urban League Young Professionals. As a young friends (age 21 to 40) affinity group of the Urban League of Philadelphia, a direct service civil rights organization, they are volunteers committed to connecting millennials to philanthropic, civic engagement, and professional development opportunities in the Philadelphia region.
