Women in Public Leadership Event

The Committee of Seventy’s inaugural Women in Public Leadership event took place on May 26, 2022 and featured 6abc’s Tamala Edwards moderating a conversation between Rep. Joanna McClinton, the first woman and African American to serve as the House Democratic  Leader, and Rep. Martina White, the first woman to Chair the Philadelphia GOP. These remarkable women from both sides of the aisle will discuss what it takes to run for office and win as a woman in PA, what barriers prevent women from running, how they reached their powerful positions and more.

C70 also honored longtime Board Member Judee von Seldeneck with the Civic Leadership Award for her contributions to C70, Philadelphia, and Pennsylvania.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor, Glenmede, and all of our generous supporters. The full list of sponsors can be found here.
