This summer marks the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act—a historic piece of legislation that transformed American democracy by protecting the right to vote for millions. As we reflect on its legacy, the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Committee of Seventy invite you to an evening of thought-provoking discussion about the ongoing fight for voting access and the future of civic participation.
The program will feature a keynote address by Professor Akhil Reed Amar, Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale University and one of the country’s foremost constitutional scholars. His remarks will be followed by a panel conversation with leading voices in law, policy, and advocacy.
