Gary Masino (Democrat)

What is one life experience you have that voters should know about?

Being a union sheetmetal worker for the past 40 years has shaped me into the person and candidate that I am today. I have learned how to work collectively to achieve a common goal. I have also learned that no one person is more important than any other. I have seen the significant impact that livable wages, quality health insurance, and dignified retirement has on people. As the President of my union the last 12 years I have been fighting for the rights of workers across the Tri state area. Unions are essential to our society as a whole and I will bring that perspective ti benefit the lives of the residents of the 10th district.

What would be your top three policy priorities in office?

Public Safety, Jobs, and Education

What sets you apart from other candidates?

I have a track record for getting things accomplished. I have negotiated many contracts, served on several committees and boards across the city and commonwealth, and progressed the lives of the people who elected me to serve them. I plan to do that for Northeast Philadelphia. It is time that we had proven leadership in our community. One with the experience with working together to achieve a common goal.

How do you plan to work across ideological lines to achieve shared goals?

I believe if the goals are shared that a solution can be found. I have worked with members of every party throughout my career to pass legislation. I have vast experience in negotiating with opposing parties and reaching meaningful solutions. My goals are common sense goals. I want safer streets, jobs that pay livable wages, and to invest in our schools. I am confident I can work across any ideological lines to achieve those goals.
