Position Overview:

The Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in expanding the reach and impact of the Committee of Seventy’s voter engagement initiatives and partner programs. This 35 hour/week, seasonal position involves recruiting and coordinating WeVote partners, supporting the C70 team to create a coalition of organizations, and coordinating street teams to engage potential voters at various festivals and events across Philadelphia. The position requires a dynamic individual who can work both independently and collaboratively, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Partnership Building:


  • Work closely with the Program Director and Program Manager to identify and recruit WeVote partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a diverse coalition of organizations committed to informing and engaging voters.
  • Develop and execute strategies to expand the coalition and enhance its effectiveness.

Voter Engagement:

  • Coordinate and lead street teams to engage potential voters at festivals and events throughout the summer and fall.
  • Ensure street teams are well-prepared with materials, training, and support to maximize voter outreach and engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of voter engagement efforts, making adjustments as necessary.

Event Coordination:

  • Support planning and logistics for voter engagement activities at various events.
  • Collaborate with event organizers, community leaders, and volunteers to ensure successful participation in festivals and public gatherings.
  • Identify and maintain a calendar of events and ensure timely communication and coordination with all stakeholders.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Regularly report on progress, challenges, and successes to the Program Director.
  • Maintain accurate records of partner interactions, voter engagement activities, and coalition-building efforts.
  • Utilize digital tools and platforms to facilitate communication and collaboration among coalition members.



  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in community organizing, coalition building and maintenance, or voter engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools for communication, reporting, and data management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
  • Passion for civic engagement and a commitment to the mission of the Committee of Seventy.

Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid position, requiring both in-person attendance at events and remote work.
  • Must be based in Philadelphia or the surrounding area and able to travel within the city as needed.
