What is one life experience you have that voters should know about?
I was in the Pentagon on the morning of September 11th, 2001. And I served in 32 different countries over the next 18 months.
What sets you apart from other candidates?
My breadth of experience: veteran, commercial sector leader, associate professor. Incumbent state representative. I can see the big picture and I understand the details and the determination required to set Pennsylvania up for a better future.
How do you plan to work across ideological lines to achieve shared goals?
It isn't easy to work across ideological lines today. You must build relationships and develop personal trust. You take small steps first. I also think there are policy areas where interests do overlap. For instance, modernizing stormwater systems in Pennsylvania's oldest areas provides the opportunity to make main street new again. It will create jobs and economic growth. It will protect homes and businesses from flooding. At the same time, this \"infrastructure\" approach will create enormous environmental benefits like clean water, native habitat, reduced erosion and scouring of our creeks. We might do that kind of project for completely different reason, across ideological lines. But we all have an interest in doing that kind of project.
What would be your top three policy priorities in office?
This election is about addressing the future of Pennsylvania. Everything is on the table, from public education and extreme weather events, to protecting the right to abortion and reproductive health, to defending democracy. I will work every day to fulfill the promise of justice and liberty for every Pennsylvanian.
