What is one life experience you have that voters should know about?
I have been blessed to attend many of our public educational institutions - from public high school to community college to the police academy to a PASSHE university. I've seen and lived what well-funded public education can provide.
What sets you apart from other candidates?
My experience in the legislature is invaluable, I have worked with many other members and governors to achieve the best results for my district and the state. I've learned the mechanics of negotiation and how to find a final product that ensures the most people benefit.
How do you plan to work across ideological lines to achieve shared goals?
My party has been in the minority for a long time, every accomplishment we've made has been due to compromise with the other side - and while I'm hopeful that this is the year that changes, I am no stranger to working with the other party to achieve our goals.
What would be your top three policy priorities in office?
Full and fair education funding, gun violence prevention measures, and removing government interference from sexual & reproductive health care.
The Committee of Seventy has partnered with the Carter Center to promote the Candidate Principles for Trusted Elections (www.principledcandidates.org) to improve the voting process, encourage honest leadership, and promote civic engagement. Do you support the Candidate Principles? (Your answer does not connote an endorsement from C70, but your response will be made public on our website and voter guide.)
Yes
