2008 Election Information


The next election is the 2008 General Election on November 4th. Offices up for election include President and Vice President of the United States, US Representatives, PA Attorney General, Auditor General, Treasurer, Representatives and Senators from odd numbered districts.

Important dates for the November 4th General Election:

August 1 - Last day to circulate and file nominations papers
August 8 - Last day for withdrawal by political body candidates who filed nomination papers
August 11 - Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated by a political party
October 6 - Last day to REGISTER TO VOTE before the General Election
October 28 - Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot
October 31 - Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted civilian absentee ballots
November 4 - GENERAL ELECTION
November 5 - First day to REGISTER TO VOTE after the election
November 11 - Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots (must be postmarked no later than November 3)
