Committee of Seventy releases Q&A on property taxes and the city schools

City Council meets at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in City Hall’s Room 400 to tackle 16 proposals that address the two most intensely debated questions of this year’s budget hearings:

Should Philly move forward on reassessing all city properties, which is likely to result in significantly higher property tax bills for many owners?

Should $94 million generated from post-reassessment property taxes go to the financially strapped public schools?

Seventy has put together a "Philadelphia Idiot's Guide to Property Taxes and City Schools" to help follow along.

And since last week we've been bringing you step-by-step updates from City Council's pivotal debate. Click here to read past editions of "Crunch Time in City Council."
